Irmela Johanna Topf
Irmela received her diploma in graphic design from the Academy of Applied Arts, Hannover, Germany and worked in several advertising agencies in Germany and Canada. After immigrating with her husband to Canada in 1968, she studied under Gordon Smith at UBC Extenision Department, and Peter Aspell at Emily Carr College. She also studied under Antonia Lanek-Gabanek, Allen Edwards, Sam Black, Helle Kowallek and Marie McGill.
Irmela is a Past President of Artists of Kerrisdale, a member of Artists in our Midst, and an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her paintings can be found in collections in England, Germany, Norway, Mexico, USA and Canada. Irmela enjoys painting landscapes, flowers, still life, and animals, in watercolour, acrylic and oil. She loves saiing with her family and travels widely, photographing, sketching and depicting the essence of her experiences in paintings.
