What We Do

We meet every Thursday morning, September through May in the Kerrisdale Community Centre and work under the direction of experienced instructors. We have either a permanent instructor or a variety of guest instructors who help us develop our own distinct styles of original work in various mediums, particularly oil, acrylic, watercolour and mixed media. These instructors provide us with new ideas and inspiration on a variety of art and mediums.

Although our official year ends in May, we continue to meet when possible throughout the summer on Thursdays to visit different British Columbia locales to paint en plein air.

Each fall before our year begins, we may have a weekend retreat to enable our members to get together in an informal setting to paint and enjoy one anothers company. In the past, we have visited Salt Spring Island, Harrison Hot Springs, Washington State and other locales.

Artists of Kerrisdale members regularly display their work (both individually and as a group) in various venues throughout the City. The group provides an opportunity for its members to exhibit and sell artwork at an annual art show with every other year being a juried show.
